Chateau Giscours is located in the Margaux appellation and is a 3rd Growth estate.

The vineyard consists of 102 hectares of vines planted to 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot, and 2% Cabernet Franc.

The terroir is mostly gravel with sand and some limestone in the soil. The vine density is on average 10,000 vines per hectare. To produce the wine of Chateau Giscours, vinification takes place in a combination of stainless steel vats and concrete tanks. The wine is aged in 50% new, French oak barrels for an average of 18 months.

The best vintages of Chateau Giscours are: 2022, 2021, 2020, 2019, 2018, 2017, 2016, 2015, 2014, 2012, 2010, 2009, 2008, 2005, 2001, 2000 and 1961. Chateau Giscours needs time before it can be enjoyed and is usually better with at least 10-12 years of bottle age.

The wine is best served at 15.5 degrees Celsius, and is best paired with all types of classic meat dishes, veal, pork, beef, lamb, duck, game, roast chicken, roasted, braised, and grilled dishes.
