Chateau Camensac is a fifth-growth Haut Medoc producer with 65 hectares of vineyards planted to 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot, situated east of the southern tip of St. Julien appellation, with mostly gravel-based soil and gentle slopes. They are close to other well-known Medoc vineyards, including Chateau La Tour Carnet and Chateau Belgrave.

The vinification takes place in temperature-controlled, stainless steel vats. The wines are aged for an average of 17 to 20 months in French, oak barrels that range from 35% to 70% new, French oak, depending on the character and the needs of the vintage. Chateau Camensac usually needs some time before it can be enjoyed.

Young vintages can be decanted for an average of 1-2 hours, give or take. The wine is best served at 15.5 degrees Celsius, 60 degrees Fahrenheit, with all types of classic meat dishes, veal, pork, beef, lamb, duck, game, roast chicken, roasted, braised, and grilled dishes, as well as Asian dishes, hearty fish courses like tuna, mushrooms, and pasta, and cheese.
