Chateau Belgrave is a Fifth Growth wine from the Haut-Medoc. The vineyards are in St. Julien, next to Chateau Lagrange, and the terroir is deep gravel with clay, sand, and limestone deposits in the soils.

The wine is a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. The wine is aged in 40% to 60% new, French oak barrels, depending on the character and style of the vintage.

The best vintages of Chateau Belgrave are 2022, 2021, 2020, 2019, 2018, 2017, 2016, 2015, 2012, 2010, 2009, and 2005. The wine should be served at 15.5 degrees Celsius, and it pairs well with classic meat dishes, Asian dishes, hearty fish courses, mushrooms, pasta, and a variety of hard and soft cheeses.

Young vintages can be decanted for an average of 1-2 hours, and older vintages might need very little decanting, just enough to remove the sediment.
