Chateau Haut Batailley is located in Pauillac and has a 41-hectare vineyard that is planted with 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot, and 2% Petit Verdot grapes.
The vineyard is situated inland off D1, close to the southeastern side of Pauillac. The wine is produced traditionally, with the alcoholic fermentation taking place in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats and malolactic fermentation in tank.
The wine is then aged for up to 20 months in 40% new, French oak barrels before bottling.
The best vintages for Chateau Haut Batailley are 2022, 2021, 2020, 2019, 2018, 2017, 2016, 2015, 2014, 2012, 2010, 2009, 2006, 2005, and 2000. It is best served at 15.5 degrees Celsius, and decanting time can range from 2-4 hours.
